The Lower Bucks Family YMCA is committed to community wellness. We offer a full range of programs to strengthen members in spirit, mind and body for youth and adults. Whether you are brand-new to exercise or a seasoned fitness fanatic, you will find top-of-the-line staff and equipment to help you meet your fitness goals. Your options are numerous! What's best? All full facility members will receive a free fitness orientation. And, all classes and programs are either included in your YMCA membership or offered at the member rate!

YOUTH & TEEN FITNESS

YOUTH FITNESSIt's never too early to exercise and be healthy! A mainstay of YMCA offerings for young people, youth sports and fitness fill kids' discretionary hours with positive activities and caring adult attention. These programs emphasize teamwork and cooperation as well as developing good values.

 

ZUMBA® KIDS | AGES 4-10 Meets in Multi Purpose Room

Designed exclusively for kids, Zumba® Kids classes are rockin’, high-energy fitness parties packed with specially choreographed routines and all the music kids love, like hip-hop, Reggaeton, Cumbia and more.

FITNESS ASSESSMENT/ORIENTATION

orientationWhat is a fitness orientation? Each new member is entitled to sign up for one session. You will be introduced to the fitness equipment in the fitness center. This is provided for individuals at all exercise levels.

A fitness assessment consists of a medical/health history questionnaire and 30-45 minutes series of test to measure: Resting heart rate/blood pressure, body composition, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility. To sign up for your fitness orientation or for a fitness assessment, stop by the Fairless Hills, Newtown, or Wellness Center fitness desks.

MARTIAL ARTS

youth martial artsThe YMCA offers karate classes, from beginner to advanced level. YMCA karate classes focus on a variety of skills and areas of personal growth, such as self-defense, self-confidence, personal discipline, respect for others and physical conditioning.

KINDER KARATE |  AGES 5-6
Teaches the basics of Karate while developing self-confidence and coordination. Children must be at least five years old prior to the start of the session.

SHOTOKAN KARATE | ALL LEVELS
Taught by Gary Campbell, a black belt with over 40 years of Karate experience. Teaches karate-ancient art of self-defense, emphasizing discipline and self-confidence. Available for all levels.
